Presentation Abstract
This webinar will provide a framework in how intellectual property strategy can be of service to business strategy. Specifically, what areas need to be considered in a holistic IP strategy by any innovative company. The goal is for the executive to understand the intellectual property protection needs for their business model and identify the risks and opportunities. Different topics in a holistic IP strategy will be discussed to provide context on the business impact of IP, the basics of intellectual property rights and when each type should be leveraged, areas of considerations for IP governance and policies, and best practices.
Speaker Bio
As Director of Engagement of Stratford Intellectual Property, Myriam leads a team of IP Strategy experts in delivering end-to-end IP strategy and implementation services to lean in as trusted strategic advisors. With fifteen years of experience in client facing analytical and consulting roles, her motto is, “start with the end in mind.” By developing a company’s IP strategy in service of the business strategy, she aligns company culture and IP assets to achieve business goals, while setting the company up on a path for continued growth and success. Myriam has personally overseen the development and implementation of IP strategies and IP policies for SMEs, start-ups, and multinationals.
The convergence of technical (biochemistry), business, and IP training allows Myriam to lead clients in pushing innovative technologies to the next level by maximizing IP protection from all levels, with a focus on advancing business objectives, driving innovation, identifying market opportunities, and minimizing risk. To provide IP education for business leaders, she has led the development of Stratford Intellectual Property’s IP Strategy Academy, was a lecturer for Carleton Sprott School of Business’ Certificate in IP Strategy, and regularly provides IP training sessions. In 2022, she ranked in IAM Strategy 300 global list of Leading IP Strategists, an annual guide of individuals who have demonstrated the ability to deliver a world-class IP value creation service offering.
