Rich will discuss what Startups need to do to ready themselves for their first round of investments. This will include corporate cleanup, common mistakes and overlooked items.

SPEAKER BIO

Rich is the leader of Phillips Lytle’s Startups Practice Team and focuses his practice in corporate, finance and venture capital law, as well as complex mergers and acquisitions and commercial litigation. He provides corporate counsel to a broad spectrum of companies—from startup to Fortune 50—and has lectured extensively, particularly on the topics of corporate law, venture capital and entrepreneurship. Rich has served as a judge and mentor in numerous business plan events throughout New York State, including the New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC) Venture B Plan and competitions sponsored by FuzeHub, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Communitech. Rich is listed in The Best Lawyers in America^© and was twice named the Best Lawyers^® Corporate Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Albany. He received his J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University and his B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany.
