When most people hear about clinical research their minds immediately go to major metropolitan cities as well as large academic centers. It is just as important if not more to be able to offer cutting edge research to individuals that may not have access to these centers such as rural areas and non-academic centers. These areas are often underrepresented in clinical research populations and often have unique demographics and social determinants of health that make them ideal participants.
