2019 MDIC Participant CathBuddy Rebranded to Aurie
2019 MDIC Participant and CNYBAC CathBuddy, Inc. has rebranded to Aurie, to better live into its brand purpose of supporting unburdened independence through elevated medical products and care, working with the people that Aurie serves to achieve greater health and confidence so that they can live their lives more fully on their own terms. The rebranding comes after the company's pre-seed raise of $750,000 in a priced round led by VC funds and angel investors in September 2020. Aurie was also the recipient of 2 Phase I SBIR grants in 2020, one from the National Science Foundation and one from the National Institute of Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research, as well as a 2020 FuzeHub Manufacturing Grant. Funds were used to test functional and interaction prototypes in microbiology and human factors studies. The company is closing a $1.25mm bridge financing in July 2021 based on the strength of the study results, ahead of a Q4 2021 Series Seed raise.
